Rigging Inspector

You don't need to come to us as a rigging expert.
If you're mechanically inclined, dependable, comfortable working with your hands, and have the judgment to recognize when something doesn't look right, we can teach you the technical inspection skills.
At Continental Chain & Rigging, part of the Hercules Group of Companies , our inspectors help ensure lifting and rigging equipment is safe, compliant, and ready to work. You'll receive hands-on training while building specialized skills in an industry where safety and accuracy matter.
This isn't just a warehouse position. You'll work with industrial equipment, make real pass/fail inspection decisions, use digital inspection technology, and travel to customer sites throughout Alberta.
What You'll Do

Inspect lifting and rigging equipment including web slings, round slings, wire rope slings, chain slings, shackles, plate clamps, and fall protection equipment
Learn to identify defects, wear, damage, and conditions that determine whether equipment passes, fails, or requires repair
Perform inspections both in our Edmonton facility and at customer sites
Complete inspection documentation and certifications using TESSALink on an iPad
Use measuring tools including tape measures and calipers to verify equipment condition and dimensions
Assist with light repairs, tagging, and preparation of inspected equipment when required
Work independently in the shop and alongside another team member during customer-site inspections
Travel throughout Alberta, primarily between Edmonton and Fort McMurray, including occasional overnight trips — overnight premium paid
Communicate professionally with customers while working on-site

What We're Looking For
We're more interested in finding someone with the right aptitude and attitude than someone who checks every technical box.
You'll be a strong fit if you:

Have experience in inspection, rigging, quality control, mechanical work, industrial operations, trades, maintenance, or another hands-on environment
Have a strong eye for detail and take pride in getting things right
Can learn technical standards and apply them consistently
Are comfortable making decisions and taking accountability for your work
Are mechanically inclined and comfortable using basic measuring tools
Are reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
Are comfortable using tablets and learning inspection software
Can safely lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs.
Are able to travel out of town, including overnight
Can meet customer-site pre-access requirements, including drug and alcohol testing where required
Are legally entitled to work in Canada

Rigging inspection experience is an asset — but it is not required. We provide hands-on training.
