Position Details: Position Title: Maintenance Technician Position Type: Permanent and Temporary; Full-time, Part-time, and Casual Location: Travels between Southwood, Brentwood, Chinook, and Kingsland Care Centres Hours: Flexibility Required Union Status: Unionized Position Summary: The Maintenance Technician, under the direction of the Maintenance Manager/designate, is responsible for maintaining operations of physical plant services within designated Intercare facilities i.e. Brentwood, Southwood, Chinook, and Kingsland. The Maintenance Technician assists in ensuring building systems and equipment are in safe working condition by performing preventive maintenance operations including preventive maintenance checks, building inspections, repairs, janitorial duties and necessary grounds maintenance. This position works in partnership to improve the performance of individuals, teams and the organization in providing improved customer service for residents, guests, and staff, and brings a caring, compassionate and empathetic approach to their work. Qualifications: Preference will be given to applicants with experience in a Health Care Setting A minimum of Fifth Class Power Engineering Certificate and Up-to-date ABSA Certification is required Ability to read, write, and comprehend English. Mentally and physically able to perform duties as outlined. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to complete assignments in a timely manner. Demonstrates concern and interest in providing a safe and attractive environment for facility customers, i.e., residents, guests, and staff. Demonstrates effective communication, problem solving and organizational skills. Ability to function as an effective team member with other Staff, Residents, Families and the Public. Reliable transportation is required. Available for emergency call-back when necessary.
