Principal Accountabilities
-
Review, organize, and prioritize all approved maintenance work to ensure effective planning execution
-
Conduct field walkdowns to confirm job scope, validate site conditions, and identify hazards and risks
-
Determine equipment shutdown requirements and assess the need for engineering changes; initiate the Management of Change (MOC) process when required
-
Identify and apply existing job plans where applicable to improve efficiency and standardization
-
Develop comprehensive and accurate orders

Collaborate with Supply Chain to source, order, and stage required materials in alignment with the work schedule
-
Ensure all work orders are complete, accurate, and meet planning standards before releasing for approval; update system status accordingly

Monitor and enforce compliance with established work management processes and planning standards
-
Maintain and continuously improve equipment Bills of Materials (BOMs), ensuring equipment attributes, specifications, and documentation are accurate and complete

Optimize and evaluate Preventive Maintenance (PM) programs to improve reliability, effectiveness, and asset performance
-
Ensure all planning activities meet safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance requirements, including proper permit identification and documentation
-
Integrate safety and environmental controls into all maintenance plans and job scopes
-
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to drive continuous improvement in maintenance planning processes and system effectiveness

Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant work environment

Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
-
Legally authorized to work in Canada
-
Must be 18-year-old and above
-
Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing, bending, and working in confined or elevated spaces

Ability to work various schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required
-
Basic computer skills (MS Office package)
-
Minimum of two (2) years of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), such as SAP PM
-
Experience in a maintenance planning environment
-
Strong English communication (written and verbal)
-
Knowledge of mechanical systems and detailed knowledge of the mechanical maintenance work
-
Proficient with technical documentation including but not limited to interpreting maintenance procedures, manuals, drawings, and specifications
Preferred Qualifications
-
Previous experience as a maintenance planner
-
Previous experience in a food manufacturing or industrial production environment
-
Experience with safe work practices, such as Pre-Job Hazard Analysis (PJHA), confined spaces, job task permitting, etc
