Position Scope

NACG is seeking Journeyperson Welders to join our remote mining site team in the Fort McMurray area.

This is your opportunity to join one of the safest and largest contracts in the region.

For this role, NACG offers a combined rate of up to   $69 .46 / hour  as well as room for growth!

Where You’ll Be Working

Site: Ruth Lake Shop 

Schedule:  14x14, day/night rotation

Overtime: Paid at time and a half after 8 hours per day or 44 hours in a week

Hourly Rate: Up to $69.46 per hour

Accommodations: Camp is not provided. $5/hr Living Out Allowance provide

Transportation: Bussing from Fort McMurray to site

Incentives: Boot Allowance, Tool Allowance (must bring own tools)

Responsibilities

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Complete repairs on mining equipment, including Haul Trucks, Excavators, Shovels, and Dozers (CAT/Hitachi/Komatsu)
  • Develop a work scope
  • Fabricate from blueprints
  • Complete reports and fill out work orders when required
  • Follow NACG codes of practice and safety procedures
Qualifications

What Makes You the ONE

  • Red Seal/Alberta Journeyperson Welder with 1-2 years of heavy equipment repair experience (preferably large Trucks/Dozers/Shovels/Excavators)
  • Experience with mobile equipment repairs, ice lugging, lancing, and gouging.
  • Trained and experienced with Stick, MIG and large wire-feed welders, radiograph, Cooper-heat, Plasma cutter, Lance, overhead crane, etc…
  • Ability to work outside if necessary
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal 
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Willingness to learn
  • Show leadership skills
