Job Description

CEDA is currently seeking 2 Journeyman, Heavy Duty Technicians or Millwrights to join the Dredging and Fluid Management team in Fort McMurray, AB.  This is a full time site-based opportunity with accommodation and flights provided.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Preventative maintenance on Stationary Diesel Engines, Hydraulic Systems, Trailer Units, Dredges, Barges & Marine equipment
  • Ongoing diagnostic and repair of diesel engines, after treatment/emissions, hydraulic systems and pumps
  • Troubleshoot issues, inspect equipment and replace or repair defective parts
  • Interpret work orders
  • Attend daily tool box and safety meetings as scheduled
  • Ensure all health, safety and environment practices and paperwork are complete for all day to day activities
  • Other duties as assigned

Role Specifications

  • Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician Red Seal required
  • CSO (Common Safety Orientation) required
  • Experience in hydraulic, electrical, dredge and pump systems an asset
  • Oil & Gas experience an asset
  • Valid Class 5 license with less than 5 demerits
  • Weight handling of up to 50 lbs
  • Able to provide a negative pre-employment drug and alcohol test

  • Your knowledge John Deere, Cummins and CAT engines would set you up for success
  • You’re flexible - willing to work an on-call schedule as needed and adapt to changing work environments
  • Computers are your friend, not your enemy
  • Familiarity with hydraulic and electrical systems and the ability to provide your own tools would be assets.
