Stuart Olson is currently seeking a skilled Journeyperson trades people with IRATA Level 1 or 2 Rope Access certification to join our team. This is an opportunity to work on large, integrated industrial sites including oil & gas, petrochemical, power generation, and major processing facilities.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Perform rope access work in accordance with IRATA standards and company procedures
  • Support inspection, maintenance, repair, and construction activities at height
  • Assist with rigging, equipment setup, and safe access planning
  • Complete permits, documentation, and field reports accurately and on time
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in complex industrial environments
  • Maintain equipment and ensure full compliance with safety regulations
What You Bring
  • Valid IRATA Level 1 or Level 2 certification
  • Journeyperson ticket (ideal)
  • Additional skills such as NDT, mechanical, insulation, or scaffolding are considered an asset
  • 1–3+ years of industrial rope access experience
  • Proven experience working on large industrial facilities (required)
  • Strong understanding of safety systems, hazard identification, and permit processes
  • Ability to work in physically demanding environments and variable weather conditions
Safety Certifications
  • BSO, or CSO or CSTS 2009
  • Energy Safety Canada (ESC)
    • H2S Alive or Aware
    • Fall Protection
Working Conditions

You will be working in both indoor and outdoor environments, with exposure to:

  • Hot and cold weather conditions
  • Noise and dust
  • Confined spaces and working at heights

All required PPE such as coveralls, gloves, safety glasses, and hard hats are provided.

CSA-approved steel-toed boots are required.

Note: Clean-shaven requirement applies where necessary for safety compliance.

Physical Requirements
  • Certified and able to work from heights; as per the requirements of an IRATA trained technician
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods
  • Lift up to 25 kg
  • Frequent climbing of stairs and ladders
  • Repetitive bending, crouching, and kneeling
  • Exposure to typical industrial hazards including heights, tools, and moving equipment
