Stuart Olson is seeking a safety champion and experienced HSE Advisor that is looking for long-term maintenance work. You’re passionate about creating safe work environments and thrive in a large, integrated petrochemical facility where safety truly matters. In this role, you’ll collaborate with site leadership and craft teams, lead day-to-day HSE initiatives, and inspire a strong safety culture. Reporting to the Regional HSE Manager, you’ll actively engage with workers and supervisors to make safety a shared responsibility across the site.

Build Your Career Where Safety and Balance Come First

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive a strong safety culture by coaching and mentoring employees at all levels.
  • Lead orientations, deliver impactful training, and champion Behavior-Based Safety (BBS).
  • Oversee thorough incident investigations and implement corrective actions to minimize risk.
  • Maintain accurate HSE documentation and support Joint Health & Safety Committee initiatives.
  • Ensure a visible presence in the field (approximately 85% of your time).

Qualifications:

  • NCSO designation (CRSP, CSP, or NEBOSH preferred)
  • 3 to 7 years of HSE experience in industrial or maintenance environments
  • CSTS 2020 or BSO OR CSO
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience: Proven background as an HSE Advisor in industrial or petrochemical environments.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of HSE programs, regulatory compliance, and Behavior-Based Safety principles.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, leadership, and coaching abilities to engage all levels of the workforce.
  • Technical: Ability to conduct audits, investigations, and hazard assessments of varying complexity; prepare reports; and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Education/Certification: Preference will be given to candidates with a diploma in health and safety. An equivalent combination of education and relevant practical experience will be considered.
  • Other: Comfortable with high field presence (approximately 85%) and collaborating with site leadership and craft personnel.
