Responsibilities

Cost Management & Reporting
- Monitor and track turnaround expenditures against approved budgets.
- Maintain detailed cost reports and dashboards.
- Analyze actual costs versus budget and forecast.
- Identify cost trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Provide weekly and monthly cost performance updates to stakeholders.
- Support turnaround cost review meetings.

Forecasting & Analysis
- Develop and maintain project cost forecasts.
- Evaluate potential impacts of scope changes and emergent work.
- Perform earned value and productivity analysis where applicable.
- Support cash flow forecasting and cost accrual processes.
- Assist in the preparation of final turnaround cost reports and closeout documentation.

Turnaround Controls Integration
- Work closely with planners and schedulers to understand scope and execution plans.
- Review labor, contractor, equipment, and material costs.
- Support management of contingency utilization.
- Track and report approved and pending scope changes.
- Ensure cost impacts are communicated promptly to turnaround leadership.

Stakeholder Collaboration
- Interface with Nova representatives, contractors, and project teams.
- Participate in planning, execution, and closeout meetings.
- Support decision-making through accurate and timely cost information.
- Promote cost awareness and stewardship across the turnaround team.
Required Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Business, Accounting, Finance, Project Controls, Engineering Technology, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of cost control, project controls, or turnaround/project experience in an industrial setting.
- Strong understanding of turnaround, maintenance, or capital project execution.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with SAP, Power BI, Primavera P6, or other project controls systems is considered an asset.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Preferred Experience
- Experience supporting large industrial turnarounds within petrochemical, refinery, oil & gas, or chemical manufacturing environments.
- Experience managing contractor labor and productivity reporting.
- Familiarity with estimating, planning, scheduling, and forecasting processes.
Physical Requirements
- Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50 lbs. with assistance
- Stand or walk for long periods of time
- Use arms and hands to reach for, handle or manipulate objects
- Climb up and down ladders, scaffolds and other objects
